Pope Benedict XVI historic Apostolic Visit to the United States touched many in the Mid-Atlantic region. Many representatives and families from our six arch(diocese) were able to attend the Papal Mass or meet with the Pope.

Highlights: The Holy Father celebrated Mass for 47,000 at Nationals Park. (See the video.) The Mid-Atlantic (arch)dioceses celebrated this historic visit!

Archdiocese of Washington Read coverage in the Catholic Standard. The archdiocese sponsored a Youth Papal Video Contest to welcome Our Holy Father to Washington. Three local school groups won tickets to attend the Papal Mass.

At the Papal Mass at Nationals Stadium Pope Benedict XVI blessed the tabernacle for the new Pope John Paul the Great Catholic High School, opening in Fall 2008. Students at St. William of York Catholic School sent homemade birthday cards to the Pope.
